About IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Laser Treatment

IPL utilizes high-intensity light energy to reach the deeper layers of skin, promoting new cell and collagen growth. Cells with darker pigmentation that make up brown spots, red spots or scar tissue are destroyed, creating a smoother and fresher complexion. A significant advantage of IPL is that it is non-ablative, meaning that it targets the deeper skin layers, leaving the surface skin undamaged as it repairs the skin from the inside out.

What to Expect with IPL

Most patients do not need topical anesthetics during the procedure simply because there is very little to no discomfort. Some patients say that IPL feels like a tiny pinch but does not hurt. Additionally, the advantage of IPL is that there is also little to no downtime; patients may return to their normal activities shortly after treatment. For more extensive skin correction, multiple treatments may be needed.
